How to Use This Calculator

  1. First, enter your existing cumulative GPA.
  2. Enter the GPA or grade you expect to receive in your final exams.
  3. Input the current credits and additional credits.
  4. Click the "Calculate" button to get your estimated final GPA with equivalent letter grade.

Formula & Equation Used

GPA Needed = ((Current Credits + Additional Credits) × Target GPA) - (Current GPA × Current Credits) ÷ Additional Credits

Example:

Find the additional GPA needed for:

  • Current GPA = 3.52
  • Current Credits = 25
  • Target GPA = 3.85
  • Additional Credits = 32

Put the values in the formula:

= ((25 + 32) × 3.85) - (3.52 × 25) ÷ 32

= ((57 × 3.85) - 88) ÷ 32

= (219.45 - 88) ÷ 32

= 131.45 ÷ 32

= 4.11 (A+)
