Story behind the Password Generator

A while back I went to bank to start internet banking on my mobile. So, the bank manager asked me to install an official mobile application for that. When I start the registration process, firstly, it asks me to enter a strong username and password. Also, the password must be a minimum of 10 letters and it must contain at least 1 capital letter, 1 special character, and 1 digit. Therefore, I started thinking about the string which is easy to remember for me and satisfies above all requirements.

Unfortunately, I could not think of a better password. Therefore I decided to use the Internet.

There were a few online Password Generators, but none of them fulfill my standards. Since I am a web developer so I thought, why don't I develop a better tool that helps people to create strong and random passwords? And see, here is the result. I hope this tool will help you out and save time and effort.

How to use Password Generator?

The process is very simple. But before we start, there are some mandatory things that you need to do.

Firstly, it's an online tool. So, you need a smart device with an active internet connection. Because without the internet you can not access it. Also, install any web browser in your device. Then open Password Generator and follow the instructions below.

1. Select Password Length

Firstly, you need to select the length of the password. For that, you need to drag the slider. It will increase or decrease the length of the string. By default, the length is 12 and that is perfect for a strong password.

2. Choose Character Type

Our Strong Password Generator gives you the access to choose the character types. There are five checkboxes with different features.

  1. Uppercase Letters: It includes the uppercase letters. Such as A, B, C, D, ... Z.
  2. Lowercase Letters: It includes lowercase letters. Such as a, b, c, d, ... z.
  3. Digits: Contains 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
  4. Special Symbols: !@#$%^&*?/\
  5. Exclude Similar: It removes same charecters like A-a, D-d, I-i, ...

These are the five features that you can select or deselect as per your need. By default, these all are selected. If you don't want to include any feature inside your password then you can simply uncheck it. As a result, the generated string will not contain the unchecked feature.

Lastly, press the "Generate" button. As a result, you can see the resultant output just below. Now you can copy the generated password using the "Copy" button and paste it wherever you want.

In addition, you can reset all the fields using the "Reset" button.

Safety Tips

  • Don't use the same password for multiple accounts.
  • Do not use the same security questions and answers for your all accounts.
  • Use a password that is a minimum of 12 characters long. Also, use at least one uppercase and lowercase letter, one special character, and one number in your password. You can use our Random Password Generator to create a string like that.
  • Don't use family members, friends, or pet names in your security password.
  • Don't use the phone number, house number, birth date, or any ID number in your password.
  • Directory words are easy to track. So, don't use it.
  • Do not use the password in which the starting characters are common. For example, welcometothe8809, welcometothe2309. Because if one of these passwords is stolen then it will be easy to find the others.
  • Don't use the fingerprints as your password. Because it can be cloned easily.
  • Do not store passwords in your web browsers(Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Microsoft Edge, IE). Choose "Never" when it asks to save your password.
  • Don't access your important accounts from unknown computers or connected to public WiFi.
  • Change your passwords every 6 months.
  • Take a backup of your passwords and store them in a different secure location. So, when you lost your account access then you can easily retrieve it quickly.
  • Use 2-step authentication on your very important accounts.
  • Do not use your regular passwords on unknown websites. It's recommended to check the website's popularity, Alexa rank, and domain authority before entering the username and password. Because sometimes you don't know that you have given the username and password hint to the other website owners.
  • Use antivirus software or firewall to protect your computers. Also, block all the unnecessary incoming and outgoing connections with the firewall.
  • Do not download software from unauthorized resources. Just download it from reputable websites.
  • Keep your operating system(Windows, Linux, or Mac) updated.
  • Make your computer or mobile password protected.
  • Use private or incognito mode on a web browser when you access important websites.
